DesignBuilder for buildings energy modeling Workshop

May 15 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm

JD70

DesignBuilder is a friendly user interface for EnergyPlus, it uses 3D modeling to represent the building so that environmental performance can be evaluated by calculating energy, consumption, green house gases emissions, comfort conditions, daylight illuminance and HVAC component sizing.

The workshop will illustrate to attendees how to use DesignBuilder software by learning how to create 3D models, set model characteristics from materials to used heating and cooling systems, come up with simulation results and analyse them.

First Session, 13 May (4:00 pm-6:30 pm)
Introduction & Modeling in DesignBuilder with focus on the following topics:

– drawing tools
– importing Plans
– model options
– model data overview
– templates

Second Session, 14 May (4:00 pm-6:30 pm)
Features and Applications with focus on the following topics:

– simulation – time and schedules –
– cooling design
-simulation – time and schedules –
– glazing and solar shading
– daylighting calculation
– comparing results
– natural ventilation and mixed mode
– HVAC

Third Session, 15 May (4:00 pm-6:30 pm).
advanced topics and exercises.

–The Workshop is valuable for Architectures, civil engineers, energy engineers or any professional in energy modeling field.

-The Workshop will be presented by Engineer Iman Abu Assi .
Iman is an Architecture Engineer holding a Masters degree in Environmental and Renewable Energy, with more than five years of work experience.
